Stewart is predeceased by his parents Glen Stewart Whitebird and Doris Anne Whitequill; paternal grandparents Albert Agecoutay and Alma Whitebird; maternal grandparents Emile and Lena (Crowe) Whitequill, siblings Dolphus Whitebird, Danette Whitebird, Leanne Whitequill, Rayna Pasqua and a baby sister. He was also predeceased by his aunt Linda Rosebluff who raised Stewart and his sister Shawna, aunts Irene Agecoutay-Dubois, Valerie (Whitebird) Gordon, Marlene Whitebird, Barbie Watetch, Janice Whitequill, Teresa Whitequill, uncles Louis, Allan, Raymond, Michael and Linus Whitequill,
Bradley Louison Sr. Richard Starr; as well as other family members. He is survived by his sisters: Shawna (Leo) Whitebird, Terry Pasqua, Crystal (Montana) Lavallee, brother Charles Dubois, adopted siblings Carol Desjarlais-Charles, Jennifer Rosebluff-Thomas, Cory Desjarlais. Aunts Faye (Rick) Whitequill, Noreen (Earl) Cyr, Marian (Gary) Whitequill, Loretta Watetch, Sherry Lavallee, Antoinette Dubois, uncles Morley (Brenda) Whitequill and Wally Watetch, cousin Edmund Jordan, nieces and nephews: Rowan, Riley, Leo Jr, Leyah and Larrah, as well as other family and friends too numerous to mention.
Stewart loved wearing hoodies and spending time with his friends and he had a love for rap music creating his own beats and rhymes. His favourite game was Thug Life that he played on Facebook and enjoyed watching Netflix, his favourite movie was 8 Mile. He also had several nicknames over the years, Pongo, TooShort, StewPac but most people called him Stewie.
The family gives thanks to the Regina General MICU doctors and nurses who did their best in taking care of Stewart and thanks to Kayla and Colleen from Indigenous Services for their support to the family.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Lee’s Funeral Home 3101 Dewdney Avenue from 2:00p.m. until 3:00 p.m. for Regina family and friends. Wake to follow at 4:00p.m. at the Muscowpetung Education Centre, Muscowpetung First Nation. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 1:00p.m. with Pastor Edmund Jordan officiating.
Covid restrictions and social distancing will be in place.
