Lydia was born in Cupar, Saskatchewan on March 14, 1920 and lived a happy, full, and long life for the following 103 years. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Dwight) Bale; son Calvin (Leanne) Harlos; grandchildren Michael Bale and Shannon Lacey; great-grandchildren Chase and Kathleen Lacey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great and great- great nieces and nephew. Those who passed before her, were her loving husband Harold; parents Jacob and Elizabeth (nee Klug) Meyer; in-laws Frederick and Margaret (nee Weisbrodt) Harlos; as well as all of her 13 siblings; and many friends.
Lydia was a strong but caring person. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. You never left Lydia’s home without being served a great meal, coffee and freshly baked sweets, a smile and a warm heart. The Harlos home was always a place that you enjoyed to visit. Lydia was full of energy, even into her 90’s, that amazed most of us.
After leaving Cupar, she moved to Regina and later married Harold. Their first home was a small 3rd floor apartment at the Millar’s house on Osler Street. They later moved to 1036 Queen Street. Years later they made the big move and moved into a new home at 1041 Queen Street. Years later she bought a condo on McIntyre Street where she lived until she moved into Ashton Manor and finally to the Regina Lutheran Home.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2015 4th Avenue North, Regina, Saskatchewan.
We love and will miss you.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
