Josephine C. Weinberger

The family of Josephine Weinberger are sad to announce her passing on Friday, January 19, 2024 in Regina, SK. Josephine was born in St. Peter’s Colony, Kronau District on August 12, 1922. She was the youngest in the family of two brothers and four sisters.

She married Rochus (Roy) Weinberger February 12, 1945. Together they farmed on the original Weinberger homestead until 1958. They then moved to Vibank until 1965, when they moved to Regina. When Roy took sick in 1982 and passed away, Josephine moved to Cathedral Courts, where she has lived ever since. A great love of hers was crocheting in her spare time.

Josephine is predeceased by her husband Rochus, in June 1982; her son in infancy; parents Joseph and Agatha Reinhardt; grandsons Vernon (Marshall) and Douglas (Shinnie); son in law Ronald Shinnie; brothers Sebastion (Dorothy), Anton (Geneveive); sisters Elizabeth (George) Warnke, Sr. Celestine (SOS), Margaret (Florian) Klein, and Florence (Martin) Knoll.

Josephine will be missed and lovingly remembered by daughters Dianne (Ed) Planz, Marlene Shinnie, Joan (Pete) Fellinger, Marilyn Marshall, and son Leon. Grandchildren Cheryl, Corrine (Jared), Nancy (Len), Glenna (Tony), Kelley (Garth), Sandy, Greg (Kathleen), Pierce and Kiera, Rodney (Nikki) Quinn; thirteen great grandchildren;and great, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to niece Carol Lynn and to the nurses at Wascana Rehab Hospice Unit.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2104 Garnet Street, Regina SK at 1:00 p.m.
