May 30, 1952 - April 29, 2012
It is with great sadness we announce Ed Pichette, beloved husband of Darlene Pichette (nee Chalus), passed away suddenly, on April 29, 2012 at the age of 59 years. Ed was born in Regina where he spent his early years, and was the youngest of seven children. In his early teens, Ed moved to B.C. and then Alberta with his family where he found a lifelong love of creating music. Ed played bass guitar in many bands, but his favorite memories were of playing music with two of his brothers. He was a natural musician who could pick up any instrument and entertain the room. In the early 70’s, Ed returned to Regina where he met the love of his life Darlene. They married in 1972 and had two children, Charles and Catherine (Schmidt). Ed was also a doting grandfather to his four grandchildren, Zoe & Quinn (Schmidt) and Chase & Braden (Pichette). All of his life, Ed was an entrepreneur at heart. He ran a successful janitorial and carpet cleaning company and also had many other small business ventures. Ed was presently employed by Supreme Basics, but his love of cooking was guiding him in the direction of opening a restaurant, which sadly he did not have the opportunity to realize. Ed was predeceased by his mother Mary Ann and step-father Chester (Stade); father Ernest; three brothers- Earl, Kenneth & Gerry; sister-in-law Louise, and brother-in-law Zoltan (Paul). Ed will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sister Shirley Paul; brothers Wayne (Mable) & Larry (Iris); sisters-in-law Jane (Ernie Heistad), Thelma (Ron Currie), Debbie and Carol; brother-in-law Michael (Michelle Chalus) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed’s memory to Soul Harbour Mission.
