This last few months have been rough for her. In June she had contracted Covid/Covid Pneumonia and it hit her hard, hospitalizing her for over a month as she fought to get through it. It had deteriorated all her muscles, leaving her wheelchair bound and unable to care for herself. She carried out the last few months of her life at William Booth with the wonderful team there. She especially loved her care giver Alice, they developed such a special bond. Thank you Alice, you made Mom so happy. She was awaiting a permanent residence in long term care when she contracted Pneumonia again, putting her back in the hospital. Once there, it was determined that from years of smoking, contracting Covid and repeat Pneumonia her lungs were not going to be able to recover. Mom made peace with this long before we had, once we were able to accept it she felt at ease and passed away peacefully in her sleep the next morning, Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
As per Mom's wishes there will be no funeral service. Before her passing she talked about who she would hug first when she arrived in heaven. She finally decided she could hug two people at once so it would be her Mom and Daughter and then immediately after her Husband. She was at peace with it being her time to go home. And home she is.
Rest easy Momma. Until we meet again.
