Dennis was called into his Lord’s presence on June 6, 2021 at the age of 72. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years Karen (nee Weber); son Daniel (Kaitlin); grandchildren Connor, Devon, Emma; sister Doris, brother Ivan (Myrtle); sister-in-law Janet, Verna (Dennis) Wingenbach; brother-in-law Mel Weber, Stan Weber; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Nathan, his parents Frank and Emma; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Martin and Edna Weber; Sisters Evelyn (Roy), Francis (Bill), Lorraine (Jake), Mable (Ron), and Lillian; brothers, Lloyd, Clarence (Lois), Milton (Erna), Clifford (Marion), Eric (Gwyneth), Melroy (Audrey), and Edwin.
Family, faith and farming were three elements in life that Dennis loved the most. His dedication to his family was beyond compare. He was always willing to help whenever, wherever and whatever.
Dennis loved God. He faced many obstacles throughout his life, but his faith never wavered. He never said anything unkind or used profanity (unless “Hokey Fritz” counts as one). He was a wonderful role model to many and most counted their blessings to call him friend.
Dennis lived his whole life in Southey; he loved it here and the mere mention of relocation sent him running for the hills. Farm life was what he knew and although difficult at times, his work brought him joy.
Dennis touched so many lives and his kind heart left a mark like no other. He continuously managed to find the light in any darkness, took what he was given and tried to make the best out of every situation. Between the pranks and his quirky sense of humor Dennis always found the fun in life. Whether it be that
mischievous grin or glint in his eyes one could always count on his smiling face to brighten up any room.
A Funeral Service will be held at Southey Baptist Church on June 17, 2021, by invitation only, with Pastor James Graham officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Victoria Avenue Funeral Homes Facebook page at 2:30pm. A private family visitation and burial will take place prior to the service.
Donations in memory of Dennis may be made to Southey Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
