He was predeceased by Darlene, his wife of 47 years.
David is survived by his daughters, Alison (Michael) Anderson, Melanie (Jeff) Martin, and Stephanie (Brad) Vance; seven grandchildren: Sophia and James Anderson, Ian, Izzie and Adam Martin, and Owen and Andrew Vance all of whom brought him immense joy.
The youngest of five siblings, David is survived by Eileen (Arliss) Dellow, Ernie (Elaine) Wurm, Dolores (Brian) Carey, and Donna (Jose) Loera.
David was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on April 2, 1949. David earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Regina and started his career at Co-Operators Insurance where he remained for over 30 years. After his retirement, he kept busy with part-time work at SLGA’s North Albert location which suited his sociable nature. David had a wide array of interests that included cycling, gardening, walking, golfing, making puzzles and watching educational programs and sports. He was an involved grandpa who had endless patience for his grandchildren and could often be found playing alongside them or catching up on the phone. David had a great sense of humour and was always willing to help out family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the devoted and caring staff at Regina Pioneer Village’s Dementia Unit for their compassionate care of David. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 2550 12 Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
