Clyde Frederick Moulton passed away peacefully in Regina, Saskatchewan on Sunday, May 15, 2022 with his daughters by his side. Having recently celebrated his 88th birthday, sadly he contracted COVID in the midst of an outbreak at his residence. Clyde was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Daphne; son-in-law Glen Despins; son David; brother-in-law Jack Legge; and siblings Pearl, Val, Sylvia and Shirley. Clyde was born on April 4, 1934 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the second oldest in a family of eight. On August 17, 1963, Clyde married Daphne Legge and in 1965, a job transfer from Swift Canadian relocated the family to Regina, SK. Clyde worked at Swifts for 34 years after which he became a self-employed painter/handyman, retiring at the age of 74. He was a hard worker and at times worked three jobs to support his family. His favorite pastime was carpentry and he took great pride in building model bluenose boats to scale with each part skillfully handcrafted, always paying close attention to the finest details. As a skilled carpenter, he crafted furniture as well as numerous toy airplanes, boats, ducks and a rocking horse for his grandchildren. Clyde enjoyed many hours in his workshop with his two grandchildren by his side. He also loved family gatherings, which always included playing cards, horseshoes or tennis. Clyde’s competitiveness was fierce and whenever he won, he would politely sing out “S..o..r..r..y” to the non-winners. He loved travelling, music, singing, dancing and playing guitar. A kind-hearted and loving father and grandfather, he was a joy to be around. He maintained his wonderful sense of humour and sharp wit in any circumstance. He had charisma and charm and brought light to any room he entered. Clyde will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Wendy Despins, and Gail Moulton (Wes Yantz); grandsons Adam and Eric Despins; brother-in-law Paul Legge; siblings Sheila, Diane and Gordon; and special friend Pat Parent. A private interment will be held for the family.
