Calvin Haniak was born in Regina on March 31, 1963 and passed away on July 28, 2020 at the age of 57. He was predeceased by his father William, his mother Delores; as well as numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his son Matthew; sister Brenda (Mark) Gettle; brothers Dale (Lori), Kelly, Tracy (Daina); as well as many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Calvin was passionate about cars, fishing, and sports, especially the Riders and Blue Jays. He was always seen wearing his Saskatchewan Roughriders jacket in winter and Blue Jays memorabilia in summer. He bought and sold many vehicles, but his favourites were the classics, such as his 1979 Camaro and his white Corvette Stingray. Fishing and camping were also his passions; he loved taking his boat and camper out to Rowan’s Ravine for many long weekends of casting and reeling in the big ones! Calvin’s real passion was wrestling; he never missed a Wrestlemania since it originated in 1982. Every Wrestlemania was served with a home cooked meal and front row seats in his living room. As his brother once said, and Calvin loved the phrase, “Baseball, hockey, football… they’re all rigged. Now wrestling, that’s REAL!”
Calvin will be dearly missed by those who knew him and loved him. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Society, #9 - 19B Albert Street, Regina, SK. S4R 2P6
