Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Redwood City, CA surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2019. Lydia was born on November 28, 1925 in San Fidel, NM to Alfred G. Armijo and Lucy Otero Armijo.
She is survived by her two daughters, Evangeline (Vangie) Alire and husband, Preston Alire Jr. of Vacaville, CA and Irene (Rene) Spicher and husband, David Spicher of Redwood City, CA; two sons, Mark (David) Santiago and wife, Beverly Santiago of Redwood City, and Daniel Santiago of Rio Rancho, NM; twelve grandchildren, Jill Fowler, Paul Alire, Richard Briggs, Tony Santiago, James (Dino) Gillespie, Gina Glenn, Wendy Duenas, Theresa Castillo, Ruben Castillo, Samuel Santiago, Mark Santiago, Jason Santiago, Keith Santiago, Ryan Santiago, and Elizabeth Santiago; and 34 great-grandchildren. Lydia is preceded in death by her son,
Alfred (Freddy) Santiago.
Lydia spent most of her life in San Francisco. She was a business owner who loved to travel and loved to dance. We will always remember her smile, her spunkiness, and her laugh (along with her jokes). We love you and miss you, Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma!
Visitation and Rosary on Thursday, March 28th from 5pm to 9pm (Rosary at 6:30pm), Redwood Chapel Mortuary, 847 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration Mass on Friday, March 29th at 11am at St. Pius Catholic Church, 1100 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA. Reception following Mass.
