Papa was such a special man.

A man who could build just about anything. A workshop, a tree house, heck he built a house!, a "Christmas" tree made from horseshoes, a tree swing....

A man who was known to not speak much, and when he did, those words were spoken softly.

A man who did not need to speak to let his family know they were loved deeply.

I have many special memories of times we spent together. The most recent being the Merle Haggard concert at Mountain Winery, four generations together enjoying great music in such a beautiful setting.

Thank you Papa for being a very important person in my life and for loving my daughter and being there for her always.

As a good friend of Jessica, I know how much Papa meant to her. The stories she told me of how he was continuously there for her since she was born and through adulthood is just so touching. He was the perfect man, loving, loyal, hardworking. I am touched by how wonderful a male figure he was in her life and am happy she got to know and feel that. God bless him and your family.

So sorry for your loss Jess. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love you!

We are all better people for having you in our lives and having the privilege of you watching over us as we grew up. 
I can't imagine the world without you. Thank you, Uncle Joe, for everything you did, quietly and without question, always. We will love you always and will never forget all of the good times.

Uncle Joe was one of the sweetest and kindest men I have ever known. I am so thankful that I grew up around him and learned from his example. He will always have a very special place in my heart.

I thank God and know how blessed I am to have you in my life these 34 years.
You came to the hospital after work the day I was born.
You and Grandma drove me to/from school for countless years.
All those times we went to breakfast I never knew how much you disliked the sight of eggs sunny side up.
But you never said a word and let me order them anyway.
You took us to Webber and taught us how to fish and I felt so special when you let me steer the boat out on the lake.
You built a home for us when we needed it and built a tree house for us just for fun.
You helped us blow all the dirt out of our golf carts so we could hit the track in the back field again.
You were there after my car accidents, worked on my cars and went with me to the mechanic shop other times.
You were there the day I graduated from high school.
You held my hand when I was in labor with Cody.
You were there on my wedding day.
When my C-section was moved up last minute you and Grandma still made it to the hospital just minutes after Ellie was born.
Everyone who knows you, know what a quiet and reserved man you are, I can only recall you being angry or swearing a handful of times and 2 of those times were when someone had done me wrong and hurt me.
You bought me chocolate on Valentine's Day.
I will always treasure the gifts you made me with your own two hands.
Thank you for providing some of the best memories of my life and making sure I was loved and safe.
You aren't just my grandfather, but more like another father, you are my Papa.
I love you.
