Born in 1927 in Forest Grove, Oregon, Carolyn Hudson spent her childhood learning to ski on Mount Hood and swim in the Willamette River. After her marriage to William “Bill” Hudson (1925-2010), the couple moved to Redmond where they started successful businesses in mink farming on the Red Brick Road and later in dry cleaning on Rose Hill. Carolyn was active in youth skiing and swimming programs throughout her life, managing summer programs on Lake Sammamish for many years. After retiring, Carolyn put her energies into traveling the west coast skiing and nurturing her garden, famous for its stunning begonias, dahlias, and vegetables. Her favorite spot was sitting in the sun on the back porch, surveying her garden and updating her list of 10-minute jobs for any unsuspecting passers-by. She is survived by her children Julie, Scott, Jordis, and Blair, and grandchildren Alex, Margaret, Jacob, Megan and Lucas. Carolyn will be memorialized on June 1st from 2-4 pm at the Happy Valley Grange Hall in Redmond.
