Arminnie "Sis" Hollis was born in Banks, Alabama on February 8, 1926 to James and Henrietta Larkin. She was the only girl of 7 children. Arminnie passed away peacefully in her Detroit, Michigan home on November 26, 2023 at the age of 97.
"Sis" had a long and successful career as an Operating Room Technician beginning at St. Jude Catholic Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. When she relocated to Detroit, Michigan, she continued her career at Metropolitan Hospital until they closed. She retired from Henry Ford Hospital Main Campus in Detroit. After she retired she cared for children as a daycare worker. She was a natural caregiver and took care of everyone and anyone she could. She was always worried about everyone else instead of herself. She also enjoyed baking and was known for her 7-Up pound cake. Sis loved her garden and planting flowers and vegetables. Her landscaping was always meticulous. However, her passion was her family. Sis was the rock of the family and she simply loved being a mom to all.
Arminnie was the beloved wife of the late John Hollis for 45 years until he went to be with the Lord in 1991. Loving mother of James (Linda) Hollis, and Elner Hollis.

Great-great grandmother of Amani Hollis, Cor'Nae Hollis, Iyreon Hollis, Novani Alexander, London Hollis, Kendall Hollis, Ah'Moura Hollis, Amiyah Hollis, Karsyn White, Aaliyah Hollis, Eryn Hollis.
Extended grandchildren Oscar Glenn, DeSean McKinley, DeShaun Grissom, Clifford Brown and Jason Brown.
Preceded in death by all of her siblings: Cleopas (Orie) Larkin, George (Emily) Larkin, David (Ruby) Larkin, Davison (Elizabeth) Larkin, Roosevelt (Lillie Mae) Larkins, and Clemmy Larkin.
She will also be missed by a large extended family of nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews as well as a host of friends.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 25450 Plymouth, (West of Telegraph) Redford, MI 48239 on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm. Her life will be celebrated with a service led by Reverend Brenda Jones at the funeral home on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 12pm. Family and friends may gather before the service beginning at 11am.
