Irene Sadowski, born October 29th 1921, passed away in her home of 60 years after a long life of love and devotion to her family. She was born in Charleston, Arkansas, the second of eight children to Harvey and Bonnie Stephens. She transitioned to the west coast in 1940, where she married and raised her family.
A resident of Shasta County since 1950, Irene had four children; Gary Clayton, Peggy Daniel, Sharon Yount, and Janie Clayton-Gloss. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Although her roots were in Arkansas, where she traveled to visit family, the rest of her family was spread out from Boston to Alaska. Until the last few years of her life, she traveled annually to Alaska, St Louis, and Florida to visit her family.
Her home was the center of many gatherings for holidays and special occasions and a refuge for many. She was forgiving and unconditional in her love, and always willing to forgive people. She never gave up and was always supportive of those in need. A member of the Shasta Baptize Church, a strong believer in her faith in God which kept her strong. She will be missed as she was the center for our family and cherished by many.
