Sarah passed peacefully at home on May 9, 2013 at the age of 84 following brief illness.

Sarah Armada Russell was born in Custer, Michigan on September 27, 1928. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Iva Russell, her beloved husband Orville, step-daughter Linda Davis, sister Martha Russell, and Brother Bill Russell. Sarah is survived by her sisters Dorothy Kaufman of Ephrata, Washington and Mary Caldwell of Chelsea, Michigan, brother Frank Russell of Fallbrook, daughter Carol Swaner of Eureka, son Bob Ekin of Redding, step-daughter Darlene Harrison of Fortuna, granddaughters Jennifer DeWald of Sacramento, Megan Marruffo of Cloverdale, Emily Ekin of Redding, Kaylee Ekin of Redding, several nieces, nephews, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Sarah was raised on a family farm in rural Michigan. She moved out west to Oregon with her parents where she graduated high school. Later she met the love of her life and lifelong husband,Orville. Sarah was a wonderful Mother and homemaker who enjoyed an active and fun-loving life. Sarah and Orville enjoyed time together at home and by getting away with an RV and one of their many family pets.

Her life included a 20year career As a bookkeeper and, with many friends, enjoyed membership in the Professional women's Association.

Sarah moved to Redding in 2001 with her husband. Over the past several years following the loss of Orville, her social desires rekindled and she revived her enjoyment for camaraderie.

Sarah enjoyed her time by regularly playing Bingo at the Senior's Center. Sarah's kind work and truly beautiful smile will surely be missed by all of those that came to know this wonderful woman, beloved Sister, beloved Mother, and beloved Wife.
