Karen Lee Pursley (age 72) of Redding, California passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Karen was born in Roseburg, Oregon to (Homer) Tom and (Shirley) Jeanie Wilson on May 15th, 1951, the first of five children. Karen was a homemaker and devoted mother to ten children. She was a talented singer, storyteller, and artist, creating lasting memories through scrapbooking and crochet. She endeavored to help others outside the home through various non-profit business pursuits, as a teacher, and a budding author.
Her memory will be cherished by her mother Jeanie Wilson, and by her children, Colleen (Junior), Virgil (Sharon), Justin (Courtney), Nathan, Brenna (Josh), and Renee (Josh) and her grandchildren Ryanna (Jordan), Rexton, Rayna, Jaycee, Kayleen, Gabriel, Alan, and Evelyn, and by her younger brother Tommie Dean Wilson, and two younger sisters Shelly Ann Wilson and Yvonne (Vonnie) LaRae (Mike) Mondragon. She is also cherished by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces who she grew up with. Some of her nephews and nieces include Jodeen (Brian) and Jeremy , Misty (Chris), (Little) George (Jennie) and Amanda, and Tyler along with a large host of significant others and grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father Tom Wilson, her brother Albert George Wilson, and her daughter Jeanine Canaday.
