Dorothy Elizabeth Silva

2/20/1926 To 11/20/2018

Wonderful loving Christian wife and mother joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 11/20/2018 at her residence in Shingletown, CA where she lived with her daughter and family for the past 8 years. She was 92 years and 9 months old. Dorothy was the third child of Wiley and Martha Elizabeth Gay of Walstonburg, NC and in 1942 at the age of 16 she moved to Washington DC, to work for the FBI as a secretarial clerk. During that time she met and married her husband of 54 years. They lived in the Bay area until moving to Shasta County 31 years ago. During her many years of marriage, along with being an excellent homemaker, she also had other occupations to keep her busy. She was a Box Factory worker in the Bay area, co-owned a restaurant with her husband in North Carolina, Foster Parent in the Bay Area, cafeteria worker for Lucky Headquarters' in the Bay area and worked at the Fish & Chips in Dublin. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Silva, daughter Eileen Silva Cox and grandson Keith Cox. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of son, Albert J Silva, Jr and wife Sharon, daughter Linda G. Jones and husband Ron, son Michael W. Silva and wife Lois, and son-in-Law Kenneth Cox, Sr., 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00am at Open Door Community Church in Shingletown, CA.
