Eugene E. Gott ( Gene) Made it to the age of 90 years young. He was always active and never missed a day being outside repairing fences, feeding his beloved cows and in general being Gene. Sadly though his heart decided it was time to retire. He was a Korean vet home on leave when he met Norma Jean Braut at a dance. As the story goes, they were with other dates so he waited till the end of the evening to ask her out for the next evening. The rest was beautiful history. They were married 26 years until the Lord decided it was her time to leave us. They had 3 adventurous children, Gail (Gott) Ward, Lynn A. Gott and John E. Gott, giving them a beautiful life growing up on a dairy, learning the meaning of hard work and the rewards of hard play. He was a loving father and very fortunate to become a grandfather and great grandfather belovingly known as Poppy.
Chance meetings through his 50’s early 60’s brought him into the lives of two families in which he was a "step-dad". He was instrumental in raising Heather and Greg Mahan. Later, he met Deborah Perry. As was his way, he asked her out and their beautiful marriage of 27 years continued until he closed his eyes for the last time on March 13 2022.
He loved life so much. It would be wonderful to have friends and family help us celebrate his life and legacy on April 23rd at Norma Jeans Restaurant located at 18367 Bowman Rd from 1:00pm until the party is over.
