Melanie Ann (Mooney) Kinder, 54, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest unexpectedly on Monday, December 9, 2024. Born in Reading, PA on September 21,1970, she was the cherished daughter of the late Shirley Jean (Cook) Mooney and Madison Mooney.
Melanie was a proud graduate of Alvernia University who devoted 34 remarkable years to Prospectus Berco. Starting her career there in 1990, she rose to the role of residential director, earning admiration for her dedication and leadership. Her faith was equally strong. As a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church in Reading, Melanie served on the board of trustees.
Melanie was a woman of many interests and talents that made her uniquely her. She had an eye for coin collecting, a heart for babies and children, and an unstoppable love for Lifetime movies and TV sitcoms, dramas, and reality shows. Shopping and couponing were her arts, but her true masterpiece was her ability to connect with people. Selfless and endlessly giving, she was always there to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, an innovative idea or to solve a problem.
Melanie will be fondly remembered for her sharp wit, infectious sense of humor, and that sassy charm that could light up any room. Whether you were a lifelong friend or someone she had just met, she had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged.
Though her time with us was far too short, the impact she made on those who knew her will echo for years to come. She was more than just a daughter, a sister, a mother, a friend— she was a vibrant presence, and the warmth she radiated will continue to guide and inspire all those whose lives she touched. Rest in eternal peace, dear Melanie.
Melanie's remarkable spirit will be carried on by her three devoted daughters, Keiana, Jovanna, and Jessica Kinder, along with her bonus daughter, Ashley Kinder. She also leaves behind her stepmother, Charlotte Roberts Mooney; two brothers, Keith and Charles Mooney (Ranelle); and her eight grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Zion Baptist Church, 224 Washington St., Reading, PA 19601. Family remarks will begin in the church at 10:30 AM; followed by the celebration of life service, which will promptly commence at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Bruce Alick officiating.
