Lorraine E. Beltz, 87, of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in the presence of family and friends at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home in Kunkletown, PA. on Monday, October 25, 2021. Lorraine was born May 2, 1934 in Lehighton on Big Creek, a daughter of the late Roy and Bertha (Strohl) Haydt. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Clark Beltz.
Working the family farm as a child, she remembered growing vegetables and going to Palmerton to huckster and raising her younger sister Ruth at the age of 15, while living with her father. Lorraine graduated from Palmerton Area High School and held various side jobs. She met her future husband Clark on a blind date, where she would laugh and tell you that it was a double date with her girlfriend and she was supposed to go out with the other guy, but ended up with Clark. They married on January 2, 1954 and were married for 56 years and resided in Palmerton.
Over the years, Lorraine worked various jobs such as, Roller Smith making the pull pins for the war, Acme Store, local garment factories and McDonald's. Her favorite job was Kriss Pines Hatchery with her daughter Kim, where she would laugh and tell you she packed fishing worms and bagged minnows for the vending machines for the fisherman. Lorraine and Clark were snowbirds in the beginning, but ended up residing in Avon Park Florida for 24 years before returning to Lehighton for their golden years.
Lorraine loved horseback riding, hunting, fishing, dancing, golfing, playing cards, swimming, attending church, and church picnics. She enjoyed being around family and friends to remanence about all the fun times. Surviving is her daughter, Kim Beltz and her companion, Michael Mazepa, granddaughter, Jennifer Cebrosky and 3 great grandchildren; Connor, Garrett and Carter Buck. Lorraine was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Warner.
Memorial Services will be Friday November 12, 2021 at 11am in Jerusalem UCC, 545 Church Dr., Palmerton, PA. 18071. Calling hours will be 10-11am in the church. A graveside burial will follow after the service of Lorraine, Clark and faithful four legged dog, "King" in the church cemetery.
