Daniel Robert Pauley Sr., 79, of Exeter Township, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. Born February 9, 1942 in Reading, PA he was the cherished son of the late Freeman Clarence Pauley and Helen Victoria (Pawlikowski) Pauley.
Daniel was a graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School and worked at Carpenter Steel for 30 years in maintenance, retiring in 1998.
An avid street rod fan, Daniel's hobby of building and driving race cars became his passion. His love of speed and cars was infectious and he blessed many by sharing his passion. He was a very challenging competitor, winning several races, trophies and awards at local and national venues. Daniel's most notable accolade, was winning the 1991 championship and receiving 6 feature wins while racing at Lanco Micro Midget Race Club, Lancaster; where he was a member for over 20 years. Daniel was also a member of the "NHRA" National Hot Rod Association and the Cocalico Prop Busters Model Airplane Club.
In addition to his passion for building street rods, Daniel enjoyed going to local cruise nights and building model airplanes.
Daniel was Jack of all Trades- master of many! His ability to fix anything imaginable was extraordinary as he was a true "Mr. Fixit".
Daniel was the embodiment of integrity, kindness, hard work and he was always willing to help anyone in need, dropping everything he was doing to help without thinking of himself.
Daniel's spirit will be carried on by his beloved wife, Joyce Ann (Smith) Pauley; the couple married November 26,1964, they would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this year.
