Betty Jane Miller

Betty Jane Miller, 81, of Reading Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, where she was a patient in the hospital since Sept 29, 2024. Betty was born in Reading, PA on May 26, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Melvin D. and Ella V. (Moyer) Miller. Betty is survived by her sister Ruth Berube and three daughters Theresa (Pearson) Godfrey and her husband Jeffrey Godfrey Sr, Tracy (Pearson) Chirieleison and her husband Dean Chirieleison, and Tara Pearson, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 cousins, many nieces and nephews. The family shared many memories together with family trips, visits, reunions, gatherings, and memorable shopping trips.

She was a 1961 Reading High School graduate and served three years in the United States Navy. She proudly served as a clerical typist from April 1962 thru March 1965 and was honorably discharged.

She graduated from the Palmer Writers School on April 12, 1972, and completed her course in Fiction Writing. She enjoyed writing and believed in learning more skills to expand her knowledge. On May 10, 1997, she completed two courses at Reading Area Community College for Introduction to Excel 5.0 and Essential Tools for Small Business. One of her greatest educational accomplishments was successfully completing her astrology courses. She had a passion for helping others, and with this knowledge she helped many of her family and friends understand their personalities, behaviors, and life patterns, which helped give people a sense of direction in their lives. She was a blessing to everyone's life she touched.
