daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Marello) Cianciosi.
Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Barbara was in shoe sales for 40 years, working at Pomeroys and then BonTon until her retirement in 2015.
Many remember her as the lady who blew bubbles or the lady who gave dinosaurs and bracelets just to brighten your day. Barbara loved to watch "I Love Lucy."
Barbara was a world traveler, visiting Italy, Germany, Jerusalem, France, Portugal and many of the United States. She traveled by bus to N.Y. and Philadelphia weekly to light candles at St. Patrick's Cathedral or the Shrine of Saint Rita.
In her earlier years, she was a singing nun in the musical production Sound of Music at the Reading Civic Opera, was a part-time secretary at St. Agnes Rectory in West Chester, and was in the church choir. She was involved in many church activities and a member of the Victor Emmanual II and Spartico Club.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Thomas A. Cianciosi; niece, Diana L. (Cianciosi) Cocco (John); great-neice, Madalyn E. Cocco; sister-in-law, Linda D. (Price) Cianciosi.
Also surviving are sister-in-law, Margaret (aka Molly) (Arnold) Vojtasek (Bill); niece, Carla (Vojtasek) Fitzgerald (Vern); nephew, Neil Vojtasek (Shelley); nephew, Mark Vojtasek (Diana); aunt, Louise (Cianciosi) Orlando; 8 great-nieces; great-nephews; and many cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary RCC, 237 Franklin St., Reading. Burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. A gathering will be Monday, August 15, 2016, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading.
