He was born May 10, 1940, in Louisville, Ohio, to parents Ira and Esther Catherine (Cole) Kannal. Bob was a self-proclaimed “jack-of-all-trades and master-of-none.” He was the owner of Bob’s Diner in Ravenna for many years, and also served as the Pastor for the Peck Road Calvary Mission Church.
Bob was well known for his witty sense of humor, although he had a knack for not always unleashing it at the appropriate time. He enjoyed working on his cars as well as fishing and going hiking in the woods. Most of all, Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.
Bob is survived by his children: David Kannal, Cathy Kannal, and Chuck (Angela) Kannal, his grandchildren: Tony (Sarah) Johnson, Chris (Kailie) Johnson, Isaac Kannal, Noah Kannal, Paige Bell, Dakotah Bell; as well as his great-grandchildren: Skylar, Christian, Trisha, Emerson, Travis, Staci, Autumn, David and Gary.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dolly, his parents, his daughter-in-law Trish Kannal, as well as his siblings: Gene, Cora, Alfreda, Donnie, and Patty.
Cremation has taken place and virtual services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Bob Workman on Facebook Live through the Holy Lamb of God Church in Alliance Ohio. Please be safe out there and practice all necessary safety precautions. We lost quite a man to this terrible disease.
