Rick was born to parents Richard and Eleanor (Hepler) Parks in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on June 10, 1953. He was a machinist by trade and enjoyed a long career at both Loral and Ford Motor Co. Rick loved fishing and gardening and was an avid reader, possessing thousands of books. He was a very generous man and an awesome uncle, doing everything with and for his nieces and nephews. Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
His wife of 40 ½ years, Margaret Parks survive Rick along with his son Joseph Parks, his brother Dennis (Ina Sue) Parks and his sisters: Nancy (Billy) Creech and Robin (Bob) Creech. He also leaves his many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs “Balofur” and “Fuzzy”.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara Hager and his grandson Joseph Parks.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, from 11am until the Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Jim Brown, at 12pm. Private interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park. It is required that everyone attending visitation and service wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family certainly understands if you do not feel comfortable with attending due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
