Richard A. DeSimio

Richard was born in Ravenna, Ohio on August 20, 1948 to parents Louis and Marion (Sampson) Desimio. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and honorably served his country from 1966 to 1972 during the Viet Nam war conflict. He graduated from Akron University in 2003 and was retired from a long career in computer programing.

Richard is survived by his wife Kathleen (McKinley) DeSimio, his daughter Jodie Casterline, and stepdaughter Brandy Correia. Surviving also are his grandchildren: Jordan, Sydney, Brent and many nieces and nephews. His constant, furry companion “Victor Francis” will sadly miss him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers David and Robert.

Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. William Kraynak, will be held at 10:00am on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Richard’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone at the Louis Stokes VA Clinic in Ravenna and all of the staff at Crossroads Hospice for all of the compassionate care given to him and ourselves.
