He was born August 23, 1934, in Edinburg, Ohio, to parents Fate and Madeline (Lloyd) Murdock. Orville retired as a truck driver for Horning Building Supply in Kent, where he was also a member of Teamsters Local 348. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Parish in Randolph.
Orville was an avid golfer who made his own custom golf clubs. He enjoyed sports, especially Ohio State Football, and talking politics. However some of his favorite days were spent sitting on his front porch, reading a good book, or being with his grandkids.
On September 17, 1955, he married his beloved Margie Adelman. Together they raised their family with love and kindness. Orville is survived by Margie as well as their children: Dan Murdock, Dianne (Jeff) Randolph, Debbie (Shawn) Robinson, and Denise (David) Miller; along with grandchildren: Colton Murdock, Macie Whittlesey, Zachary Robinson, Chase Robinson, Dale Miller, Dakoda Miller, Drake Miller, and Delaney Miller; as well as his brother Ray Murdock.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents, his sons: Doug and Donnie Murdock, and his brother Gene Murdock.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, February 11, 2020, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Thomas Acker, S.J., at 11:00 AM at St. Peter of the Fields Catholic Church, 3487 Old Forge Rd., Rootstown. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Randolph.
