Michael Lee Jenkins, age 55 of Atwater, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at his home. Mike was surrounded by his wife and faithful family, who never left his side, after a devastating diagnosis of cancer. He fought an up-hill battle to the very end with pride and dignity.
He was born April 27, 1963, in Ravenna, Ohio, to his parents Doc E. and Alice Lea (Moff) Jenkins. Mike was a machinist by trade, and the owner/president of RW Machine & Tool, Inc. Mike began his career at RW Machine and Tool when he was 21 years old. He was a member of Liberty Bible Church for many years.
Mike loved the outdoors, especially riding his motorcycles and dirt bikes. He made many trips to Hatfield-McCoy Trails in West Virginia with family and friends to ride his dirt bike and side by side utility vehicle. Mike spontaneously created trips for he and his wife many times over, just taking off on his street bike and traveling for days and thousands of miles living out of one backpack.
Most of all, Michael was a faithful husband, devoted son, loving father, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Renae Michelle Jenkins (Blank), whom he married August 13, 2016. Also surviving are his children Arin Renee, Samantha Mae, Kailee Renae, and Reed, his granddaughter Camielle Violet; his supportive, devoted parents Doc and Alice Jenkins, his brothers Greg (Laura) Jenkins and Wayde (Sue) Jenkins, along with many nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Mae Jenkins, whom he married April 11, 1991. He was also preceded by his grandparents Lee B. and Janny Jenkins and Russell and Carrie Moff.
Mike’s wishes for cremation are being honored and respected.
Friends and family will be received Monday, June 18, 2018, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Paul Phillips and Pastor Mike Huested at Liberty Bible Church, 2215 State Route 183, Atwater.
