Kathy was born March 7, 1951 in Ravenna to John and Mary (Caniglia) Busher (both deceased). Also preceding Kathy in death were her sister, Marilyn and brother John Jr.
Kathleen graduated from Ravenna High School in 1969 and attended Akron University. She worked at Questor Juvenile Products and General Electric prior to accepting a position at the Portage County Water Resources Department. She worked there for 32 years assuming the role of Administrative Assistant to the Director for her last 15 years. At her retirement party, she was awarded a plaque naming the day Kathleen Trammel Day in Portage County.
As the middle child, Kathleen made sure she was seen and heard. Whether climbing trees, playing tag, or sledding down Beebe Hill in the winter with the neighbor kids, she held her own. She grew into an independent young lady who was true to herself and followed her own path. Those close to Kathleen were witness to her caring nature, generosity and her hilarious sense of humor. She was full of surprises, loved playing pranks and was a joy to be around.
Kathleen was an excellent cook mastering her Grandma Caniglia's wedding soup as well as Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon! Family and friends never turned down an invitation to dinner. She loved gardening, especially raising her own vegetables. Snuggling up with a good book was a favorite pastime of hers as well as travelling and attending Broadway plays. Kathleen was a dog mom her entire life and her favorite saying was, "Sometimes I like dogs better than people". She leaves her precious Westie, Cooper.
Survivors include her son Danny, who was the light of her life; her brother Mark and sister Janice; her nieces and nephews Lisa (George) Farah, Amy (Justin) Mace, Mark Jr. (Dea), Barry Busher and Randy Beorn; and great nieces and nephews Brady, Siena, Myla, Briggs, Lily, Mark III , and Vivi.
Friends will be received at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna, on Monday, September 23, from 10am until the Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. William Kraynak, beginning at 11am. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
