John Joseph Busher, Jr., 76 of Kent, Ohio passed away at UH Portage Medical Center on June 8, 2021 due to complications from diabetes. John was born in Ravenna, Ohio on January 3, 1945 to parents John and Mary (Caniglia) Busher (both deceased). He attended Immaculate Conception grade school and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1963. His high school classmates may recall his caricature drawings of the Tatler staff in the yearbook. He attended Kent State University from 1963 – 1966 where he studied commercial art. He then served in the US Army for four years stationed in Texas and Fairbanks, Alaska.
Returning to the Kent area, John attended floral design school and became a designer at The Side Door in Hudson, Ohio where he used his innate artistic ability creating arrangements for many events. He also had the good fortune to work with his wonderful aunt and cousins for 35 years until his retirement.
John was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn and his nephew, Teddy. He is survived by his sisters Janice Busher and Kathleen Trammel, Kent; his brother, Mark Busher, Ravenna; nephews Barry Busher, Ravenna; Danny (Rose) Trammel, Cuyahoga Falls; Mark (Dea) Busher, Jr. Chattanooga, TN., nieces Lisa (George) Farah, Chagrin Falls; and Amy (Justin) Mace, Chattanooga, TN; and last, but not least, three great nephews and four great nieces.
