James F. Schaffer

James was born in Warren, Ohio on September 19, 1931 to parents Harry L. and Mabel I. Schaffer. He was employed at Flintkote Pipe Co. in Ravenna until 1978 when he began working at MACtac in Stow retiring in 1993 as a supervisor in the shipping department. James was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and loved his dogs, especially his Irish Setters. Most of all he truly enjoyed spending time with his wife and family and loved hanging around with his many loving grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Kay (Fairbanks) Schaffer. Surviving also are his children: Deborah Ryan, Dr. Rodney (Patti) Randall, Steve (Lori) Randall and Donna Kay (Dwayne) Turner. Left also to cherish his memory are his 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Robert, Neil and Walter.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna on Monday, April 20th, from 12:00pm until the 1:00pm funeral service officiated by Pastor Douglas Fiddler. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
