She was born March 23, 1932, in Chardon, Ohio, to parents Allen F. and Edna Mae (Hood) Sweet. Grace was a loving mother and proud homemaker. Later in life, she ventured into the workforce. She was the head of housekeeping at the Aurora Inn and worked as a waitress. However, Grace was proudest of her 15 years working the drive-thru at McDonald’s in Texas, where she made many lifelong friends.
Grace was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, faithfully watching as many games as possible. She was also a kind and generous person, making stuffed animals and blankets as gifts for family and friends.
Grace is survived by her children who will miss her greatly: Deidre (Joe) Flynn, David Snider, Kathy Riefler, and Grace King, her grandchildren: Joshua Gatewood, Andrew Wilson, Ben King, and Brody King, as well as her great-grandchildren: Landon, Aubrey, Karter, and Victor, her sister Mary Louise Kaserman, her dear little dog “Buttons” and Kathy's dog "Sadie" both which loved her very much, as did her children.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Lois Jeanne Stitzel, her sister Geraldine Marguerite Weaver, and her granddaughter Stephanie Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Grace’s memory to American Cancer Society.
