Francis Mary Briggs, 77, passed away at the Arbors of Streetsboro on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
Francis was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 29, 1941 to parents Stanley and Virginia Eberflus. She graduated from Whitney High School in Toledo and in 1974 moved and became a permanent resident of the Winter Haven and Lake City Florida areas. Due to health reasons, she moved 20 months ago to be closer to her son Norman. She absolutely loved living in Florida. Francis was an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and in 1970 became Chairperson for the Toledo Council of Boy Scouts, thus becoming the first female chairperson in the United States. Francis loved books and was an avid reader.
Francis is survived by her sons Norman (Susan) Dotson and Kevin (Robin) Dotson. She also leaves her loving grandchildren Norman Dotson II, Jennifer Lynn (Bill) Alvey, Tyler Dotson; great-grandchildren Lynn, Bill and Elizabeth Alvey and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo at a later date.
