He was born in Cannelton, West Virginia, one of thirteen children to Ernest and Mary Belle (Belcher) Yeary. Eugene grew up on the family farm, and later moved to Portage County. He met his beloved Linda (McBride) and they were married on October 21, 1967.
Eugene was a member of Moose Lodge 1234. He loved bowling in his spare time, and also enjoyed baseball. Gene volunteered as a coach and umpire for many years. He enjoyed watching Westerns and never turned down a cup of coffee.
Eugene was a hard worker and always provided for his family. Words cannot express how much he will be missed by his friends and family.
Eugene is survived by his wife Linda Yeary, his son Eugene Yeary Jr., his daughter Bonny Bender, his grandchildren: James Bender Jr., Maddison Yeary, and Skylar Yeary, his great-grandchildren: Waylon Bender and Hadley Bender. He also leaves behind his brother Charles (Sharon) Yeary, his sister Betty Violet, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Eugene’s wishes for cremation are being honored. A celebration of life will take place on a later date.
