Dorothy was born in Ridgley, West Virginia to parents Earl Franklin and Beulah (Dawson) Simmons on August 31, 1927.
She had enjoyed a long career and retired as the billing supervisor from Robinson Memorial Hospital and had attended Ravenna Church of Christ. She enjoyed attending her husband’s WWII reunions with her husband who served in the Pacific Theatre and a member of what came to be known as the “Forgotten Battalion”. She continued attending many years after his death. Dorothy loved to travel, visiting most of the United States and far off destinations as China, New Zealand and Canada. She was passionate about crocheting, reading, going out to eat, her iPad and absolutely loved her family and spending as much time with them as she could.
Dorothy is survived by her children Wilma (Tim) Kelly and Charles H. “Sonny” (Sandra) Goff. She also leaves her 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold M. Wall in 2011, her brother Robert B. Simmons and her stepdaughter Janet Coates.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 12-2pm, where funeral services, officiated by Pastor David Ballert, will be held on Monday, November 14th at 11am. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville.
Dorothy’s family would like thank all the caregivers at Alpine House for their dedicated and gracious care of her.
