Dorothy was born on February 10, 1925 in Home, Pennsylvania to parents John and Goldie (Donahue) Houser.
Mom was a God fearing woman, served as a good shepherd to all and faithfully kept her Sabbath. She loved being a farm wife, mother and grandmother. Mom was known for her good cooking, her love of gardening and would can or freeze what she grew from the garden. She was also known for her beautiful hats that she wore. Mom never knew a stranger and was a mother to those who had none. We are all grateful for the amount of care and concern shown for our mother the last thirteen months. She was a dear mother and grandmother and will be missed, but always present in our hearts.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Carolyn (Charles) Helmling, Howard (Janet) Morrison, Bruce (Kathy) Morrison and Bonny (Tom) Smith. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Bob Boxer and many loving nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cyrus H. Morrison, and her son Harold J. Morrison. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Carol Klepper and her siblings: Robert Houser, Betty Wood and Anna Mae Boyer.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 10:00am until the funeral service, officiated by Pastor David Botha beginning at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Drakesburg Cemetery.
