She was born December 11, 1936, in Dycusburg, Kentucky, to parents Leslie and Dolly (Doom) McClure. Dorcas graduated from Crittenden County High School and worked at a small diner in Marion, Kentucky, before moving to Ohio. She worked at Oak Rubber Company for 15 years before becoming a full time homemaker.
Dorcas was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. She was an elementary school helper for her daughters and a 4-H supporter. Dorcas was active in politics and proud of her right to vote. She loved listening to music, especially gospel and Elvis Presley. Some of her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, gardening and canning. She also enjoyed going to auctions, collecting vintage glassware, and was an avid Cleveland Cavilers fan.
Dorcas is survived by her daughters Patricia (David) Wilson of Rootstown and Susanna Jones of Akron, her granddaughters Sarah Wilson of Castletown, NY and Jessica Wilson of Rootstown, her sister June (Doug) Duvall of Madisonville, KY, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Kline, her sisters: Dottie Doom Manley, Jonnie Lou Conger, Jane Ray, and Betty Joe Jones, her brothers: Patrick Henry McClure, Northern McClure, and Herbert Rudolph McClure.
A graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Scott Hindel at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown. Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
