He was born August 8, 1938, in Grantsville, West Virginia, to parents D.K. and Leone (Kelley) Burrows. Denzil proudly served his country in the US Army. Then he went to work with the family business, Burrows Well Drilling, and later became a truck driver. For many years he also owned and operated DJ’s Apple Dumplings concession trailer, traveling to area fairs and events with his family working beside him. Denzil and his wife, Naomi, also teamed up to make popsicle stick lamps that they sold at craft shows.
Denzil is survived by his children: Justina (William) McQuone, Angela (Rob Sarorocco) Burrows, Denzil (Susanne) Burrows Jr., Darren (Lori) Burrows, his grandchildren: Sarah (Lee Boling) Moore, Michael (Cassidy) Moore, Ashten Burrows, Naomi Burrows, as well as his great-granddaughter Annabelle Houser, his brother Charlie (Ruth) Burrows, and his sister Louise Kovar.
Denzil is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Naomi Jean Ritchey Burrows, his second wife Brenda K. Reese Burrows, and his brother Willard and William Burrows.
Friends and family will be received Monday, November 29, 2021, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM with funeral services officiated by Pastor John Lee beginning at 1:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow with military honors at Grandview Memorial Park.
