He was born October 8, 1954 to the late Mary Margaret “Sissy” Gray and Darwin ”Dardy” Haiflich.
Danny’s first job was at Vale Edge where he worked with his family, in the building that still bears his grandfather’s name. He later went on to work for Tipton’s TV, Com Doc and Ashton Sound where he was a highly skilled audio, visual and electrical technician. From 100 ft. TV towers to copy machines and nurse call systems, Dan could fix it.
His love of fishing and nature sprouted at a young age while growing up at Muzzy Lake and during family trips to Canada. He continued these dear traditions with his own family, creating many cherished memories in the process and passing on his admiration of the outdoors and the ultimate relaxation that fishing can bring. Those who knew him well knew his true passion for music. He appreciated all types of music and could find a song for any occasion, and if Pink Floyd could be worked in, even better. Danny was known for vibrating everything in the house with his tunes and remastering songs, so they sounded even better.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jan.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Janice, his children Jason and Nikki (John) and his grandkids: Corey, Bryce and Willow. He also leaves his fishing buddy Mark Warner, along with many other family and friends.
His family will receive friends to celebrate his life on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 5-7pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
Danny’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the UH Portage ICU team involved in his care.
The family requests donations in his name be made to any local animal rescue to help those in need.
