Chuck was born in Akron, Ohio on June 29, 1944. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during peacetime between the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Chuck started working at Goodyear in Akron at age 16 and retired as an electrician after 40 years of service. Chuck was a former Atwater Township Trustee and also remained very active in the Atwater Lions Club and the community. He loved fishing and golfing and enjoyed playing euchre. Chuck loved his grandkids and enjoyed a good meal. One of his favorite pastimes was feeding and watching the birds at his home.
Chuck is survived by his children: Kim (Mark) Kroenke and Ben Darrah as well as his grandchildren: Jeremy, Alex Kroenke and “other” daughter Kim (Chris) Baxter. Also surviving is his brother Edwin (Arlene) Darrah, brother-in-law Ron (Nancy) Braden, sisters-in-laws; Betty & Angie Darrah and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Chuck also leaves special friends: Steve Wilcox, “Macky” McDonald, and Rhonda Berry.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Darrah, his mother Marion Hess and step-father Tenn Hess and his brothers: Don and Jerry Darrah.
Friends will be received at the Atwater Town Hall, 1219 St. Rt. 183, Atwater, Ohio on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 4:00PM until the 6:00PM Celebration of Life service.
