He was born December 8, 1955, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Harry Edward and Dessie (Wilson) Harper. Ben was a hardworking man who retired from Harbison Walker in Windham after 41 years of employment. He also enjoyed working on cars in his garage, and cherished his time spent with his grandchildren.
Ben is survived by his son Benji (Crystal) Harper, grandchildren: Kayden, Mason, and Isabella, his sisters: Wanita (Harry) Amie and Effie (Tim) Overdorf, and his brother Ralph (Kathy) Harper, along with many cousins and loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his roommate and good friend Duane Fleshman.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Harriet English and Barb Purpera.
Ben’s wishes for cremation are being honored. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 12:00 PM with Pastor David Ballert officiating at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, Oh. A celebration of life service will follow at the Ravenna Eagles Lodge.
