She was born April 27, 1920, in Ravenna, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (Cox) Bretti. Anna was a member of Beebe Rebekah Lodge 405. She was affectionately known as “GG” to her family and as the “Egg Lady” to the Ravenna community. Anna operated the Huggins Egg Ranch for many years on Hayes Road in Ravenna.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara (David) Sampson and Linda Huggins both of Ravenna; grandchildren: Connie (Michael) Hall of Ravenna, Kathy Sampson of Ravenna, Jennifer (J. Michael) Smith of Ravenna, Kimberly Huggins of Rootstown, Michelle Bohonik of Warren, Sharon Huggins of Cleveland, and Amy (BJ) Mohney of Maryland; great-grandchildren: Meganne (Jason) Braddock of Deerfield, Amanda (Craig) Gilli of Ravenna, Zacary and Amber Dailey of Ravenna, Sydney, William, Jacob, and Nicholas Wright of Newton Falls, and Mason Mohney of Maryland. Anna is also survived by her great-great-granddaughter Aurora Braddock, her brothers: John Bretti, Ronald (Bonnie) Bretti, and Joseph Bretti; her sisters Mary Ann (Gene) Russell and Cecelia (Lawrence) Spohn; family friend Dorothy “Mouse” Bench, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Huggins, son Robert Frank Huggins, brothers Henry, Ralph, and Frank Bretti, sisters Dorothy Dent, Lucelia Moman, and Molly Hamlin.
Friends will be received Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with Beebe Rebekah Services beginning at 7:45 PM. Pastor Norma Bates will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
