Wesley was spent his boyhood learning and growing in the communities of Johnston County, NC. As a young man, Wesley joined with the US Army and served valiantly during the Korean War. As an adult, he gained employment with the North Carolina Department of Corrections and worked in Food Services Department. His personal interests were vast and involved so many outdoors activities. He found great enjoyment in golfing, boating, hunting and bass fishing. At different times, William coached a Little League Baseball team, was an assistant golf coach for Parkview High School, and prior to his decline in health, was an active member in his faith community at Abundant Life Worship Center in Angier, NC.
Wesley is predeceased by his parents as well as seven brothers and two sisters.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Gerri Woodall of Louisburg, NC; sons, David Woodall, Kevin Woodall, Randy Woodall and Johnny Woodall; step sons, Gary Adams (Deborah) of Federal Way, WA, Jerry Adams, Jamie Adams, Joey Adams, and Mike Adams. Wesley is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh. Funeral Services will immediately follow visitation and will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral chapel at Mitchell Funeral Home. The Rev. Pat Chisenhall will officiate. Burial will follow in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
