William E. Falck, 78, died December 3, 2022. Born in New York to the late Ernest and Marie Falck, he was the youngest of 3 precocious children. After attending Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Florida, he graduated from Florida State University (Go Noles!) followed by law school from the University of Florida. After working as the clerk for Chief Justice Vassar Carlton on the Florida Supreme Court, he worked for the law firm Greene and Greene. William went on to be the General Counsel for University Medical Center and retired as the Director of FLAHIGA, Florida Life and Health Insurance Guarantee Association.
William was known for his intellectual curiosity (whether picking up a new language, reading an obscure journal for fun, or trying new spices for Asian cooking), as much as his quick wit. He loved traveling with his extended family and playing board games, loved music from Willie Nelson to Ennio Morricone, and delighted in his children and grandchildren’s escapades.
William is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Eileen, children Annemarie (Keith), McFerrin (Quinn) and Christopher (Stephanie) as well as 5 grandchildren who adored him. He joins his infant son Benjamin in Heaven. He is also survived by his sister Mimi (Dick) Grenville and her children and grandchildren, his deceased brother Peter (Shirley) Falck’s family and grandchild; and across the pond, much loved German cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Father Chris Koehn presiding.
