William Howard Beck

Bill was born in Wiesbaden, Germany (USAF Hospital) on September 4, 1953. He was graduated from W.T. Woodson H.S. in Fairfax, VA in 1971 and later received a B.A. Degree in History from Elon University, NC in 1976.

Bill retired as an ABC Store Assistant Manager in Raleigh. In later years he worked part-time for Regal Cinema at North Hills Shopping Center.

Bill was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying the Washington Commanders, NY Yankees, University of Alabama Football, and NASCAR. He was also a U.S. Civil War buff.

Bill is survived by his sister, Kathy Lynn Salonia and her husband, CDR Mark Salonia (USN, Ret), of Virginia Beach, VA and their son, his nephew, Brett Salonia, his wife Meredith, and their daughter, Charlotte, of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by his niece, Meredith Hunter and nephews Michael Hoffman and Morgan Hoffman of California, as well as numerous close friends in the Raleigh area, including Kenny Wiggins, Brian Taylor, and Dave Jacobs. Additionally, his is survived by another close friend, Dave Eley, of Newport News, VA.

Bill was predeceased in death by his parents, Lt Col Howard A. Beck (USAF, Ret) and Wilma Dorraugh Beck of Niceville, FL, and a sister, Jean Anne Beck of Santee, CA.

He will be missed immensely by all who knew him. A Memorial Service has not been planned at this time.
