Wilbur Clyde Carroll

Wilbur Clyde Carroll, 86, died October 6, 2014. He was the beloved husband of W. Jean Carroll of 57 years before her death in June, 2007. Father of Barbara L. Carroll, Assoc. Vice Chancellor, N.C. State University Raleigh, and David Carroll, Haslet, TX, grandfather of Max Carroll Davidson, Lauren A. Carroll and William David Carroll II and Great Grandfather of William David Carroll III.

He served as Regimental Sgt. Major of the 147th Inf. Reg, 37th Division during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on November 18, 1952. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1984. He joined Benson Mgmt. Company New Orleans, LA to become Sr. Vice President of Operations/Marketing, Automotive Division.

Jean and Bill relocated to Raleigh, NC in 2005 when Barbara volunteered to help with the declining health of her mother.

The family wishes to thank Sara Jo Manning for her friendship and encouraging ministry in helping their father/grandfather serve as Leader of the Meditation & Prayer Group at Magnolia Glen, Raleigh since 2009. A memorial service was held October 10, 2014 at Magnolia Glen Community.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
