Thomas “Tommy” E. Williams, 80, died on November 29, 2014 at Rex Hospital after a brief illness. He will always be remembered as a man of faith, caring husband, father, & grandfather. He was baptized in Mr. Carl’s Pond in the mid 40’s and was a member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church. He later moved to Raleigh and became a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Raleigh and has called this home for over 50 years. He retired from Thompson Dental Company, where he dedicated over 40 years of service. He was an avid N.C. State fan and longtime member of the Wolfpack Club. Tommy was meticulous about his yard work and enjoyed many fun times at Ron’s Barn on Thursday nights listening to gospel music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Cloyce Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Frances H. Williams, son, Jeff Williams and wife, JoAnne, daughter, Denise Williams and husband, Jamie Phillips, grandchildren: Kolby and Paxton, siblings; Joyce W. Emerson and husband, Hudson, Dorothy W. O’Neal and husband, Buddy, Harold J. Williams and wife, Sandy.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 2, 2014. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on December 3, 2014. A private entombment will follow.
