Teresa Jones Spicer, 55, of Raleigh, NC, peacefully entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Transitions LifeCare, Raleigh, NC. She was born October 31, 1960 in Smithfield, NC to Sherwood and Erma Jean Jones Spicer. She is the former wife of Vincent J. Randolph.
Teresa leaves to cherish, honor, and celebrate her life a loving and supportive family and a host of devoted friends. Possibly greater than her warm smile and contagious laugh is her love and adoration for her two children, daughter Chasity L. Randolph and son Christopher L. Randolph, of Raleigh, NC; her father, Sherwood (Sandra) Spicer of Zebulon, NC; sister, Sherry (Hank) Adams of Raleigh, NC; three nephews, Jermaine (Renee) Carter of Lynchburg, VA, Kyle Adams of Raleigh, NC, and Kendall Randolph of Forest, VA; three nieces, Brooke Adams of Wadesboro, NC, Loral (Michael) Hauff of Sanford, NC, and Brittany Randolph of Forest, VA; four great-nephews, Haiden and Joshua Adams of Wadesboro, NC, Daylon Grant of Sanford, NC, and Jayvion Carter of Lynchburg, VA; one great-niece, Lillianna Hauff of Sanford, NC; and a host of extended family members to include the Jones and Spicer families.
Preceding her in death, her beloved mother, Erma Jean Jones Spicer and younger sister, Beebe Jean Spicer.
Teresa was abundantly blessed to have devoted friendships that would span a period greater than twenty years. Putting to action, the familiar adage, “to have a friend you need to be a friend…”. Left to support, love and encourage the family, Mrs. Georgia Randolph, Cynthia Randolph, Doreatha and Dennis Jamison, Brock Wells, James Brown, Patti Daniels and BFF Mary Randolph.
Teresa, known to all for her enthusiasm, fun loving, carefree spirit, positive outlook on life, loved the Lord and believed in hard work and loving family as the foundation of a healthy successful life. Her success in life is measured not by her personal achievements alone but also by her loving and respectful children, who are equally successful. Teresa instilled core values in her children from an early age. It was one of her last wishes, that “we all always love Chaz and Chris. To Chasity and Chris, “They are the best children a mom could ask for. Always know that your mom loves you both and she is very proud of you”.
Teresa’s career was a robust one which included restaurant management, retail management, property management and advertising/public relations in journalism. Her outgoing personality and self-confidence allowed her to excel in each area offering superb customer service.
An avid reader and pop culture fan, Teresa would journal and read novels and share the intrigue of her thoughts and adventures often. Among her many interests, her biggest crush, Peyton Manning, popular 1980’s music entertainer the late Whitney Houston, favorite sitcom Downton Abbey, favorite family dynasty the Kennedy Family, Princess Diana, and of course, good food, good friends, lots of laughs equals a good time.
Sadly, due to the complications of COPD, Teresa’s zest for life was extinguished. A flame, which once shown so brightly, was dimmed by breathing complications and ultimately her demise. A testament to her faith, she never complained, rather, she accepted her health condition and set out to pray and become closer to God and her family.
Special thanks to Carmen Spicer and Jennifer Brown, who provided dedicated support and tender care during her illness and to the many providers, Hospice staff and Transitions Life Care staff.
