Samir “Sam” Fawzy Rizk, 71, suddenly passed away into the presence of his Lord and Savior, on December 6, 2011, while on vacation in the Grand Cayman Islands. He was born on May 24, 1940, in Cairo, Egypt, son of the late Fawzy Rizk and Moufida C. Rizk.
Sam was a consultant with the country of Israel. He and his wife Helen enjoyed travelling the world. He was an avid runner and an inspiration to many. Above all, Sam loved his Lord, his church and his synagogue. He will be greatly missed.
He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 39 years, Helen Louise Rizk, of Raleigh, step-daughter Connie L. Todd and husband Michael, of Oklahoma City, OK; step-son Barry J. Morgan and wife Darnell, of Louisburg, NC; 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He will also be missed by his brothers, Victor Rizk and wife Colette, Kamal Rizk and wife Vivian and his sisters, Vivian Ishak and husband Maged, and Camelia Rizk, all of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends and family from 2:00–3:30pm on Sunday December 18, at Middlesex Church of God Worship Center, 5407 NC 231 S., Middlesex NC 27557, where the funeral service will be held at 3:30pm. Graveside services, with Hebrew prayers, will follow at Murray Family Cemetery, Nash Co., NC.
