Rob Rudisill

Rob was a loving husband and father who enjoyed traveling with his family and participating in his sons’ activities. He was the Tiger Scout den leader and coached t-ball. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed taking his family to see the Carolina Hurricanes, Durham Bulls and Carolina Panthers. He was very proud of his sons and taught them about the sports that he loved. Some of his favorite moments were attending the playoff games when the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was the Vice President of IT for GFI Software. He took pride in his work and traveled around the world for his company.

Rob never let his illness slow him down. He remained active with his family throughout the past three years. He showed patience, courage, and a fight that will always be remembered.

Rob is survived by his wife Maria Elizabeth (Armington) Rudisill of Raleigh, NC; sons Robert Mitchell Rudisill and William Charles Rudisill of the home; mother in law Mary Armington of Anderson, IN; brother in law Charles J. Armington of Anderson, IN; mother Barbara Williamson and her husband Bill of Lugoff, SC; along with many other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Maha Elkordy, MD and the team at the Cancer Centers of North Carolina as well as the ICU team with Rex Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 200 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC. The Very Rev. Daniel Oschwald will officiate. A private cremation ceremony was held through Brown-Wynne Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geoff Bost.
